Description

Portal crane is a large rotary crane for ports. Its structural design fully takes into account stability, load capacity and operating flexibility. It is widely applied in port loading and unloading, shipyards and large industrial sites. The whole machine is mainly composed of four parts: metal structure, working mechanism, electrical system and safety device, and has the characteristics of complex structure and complete functions.

Metal structural part includes a gantry, a slewing platform, a boom system and a balance system. The gantry frame adopts a box-shaped cross-section welded structure, consisting of rigid legs on both sides and upper beams to form a stable door-shaped frame. It can withstand huge vertical loads and overturning moments. Slewing platform is on the top of the gantry through large slewing support, supporting the lifting mechanism, luffing mechanism and the slewing mechanism. The boom system mostly adopts a truss-type or box-type structure, and the pitch movement is achieved through the magnitude-changing mechanism. Some portal crane uses a combined boom system, which forms a four-link mechanism through the elephant nose bridge and a rigid pull rod to ensure that the goods move approximately horizontally.

The working mechanism includes lifting mechanism, boom luffing mechanism, slewing mechanism and crane operation mechanism. The lifting mechanism consists of a motor, a reducer, a brake and a wire rope reel, which can achieve vertical lifting of heavy objects. Amplitude variable controls the elevation angle change of the boom, and the common ones are wire rope swing and rack swing. Slewing mechanism is driven by a vertical speed reducer motor, so that portal crane can operate 360° fully slew.
